What most people think of Mocha is a blend of flavors of coffee and chocolate. NOT TRUE! Mocha or Mokha was the port city that Yemeni coffee ships from. It has nothing to do with chocolate.
Mocha-Java is perhaps the most famous blend of coffees in the world. Originally Yemeni Mokha and Indonesian Java’s were used thanks to the Dutch East India Trading Company 15th century, but because of the political and economic situations in Yemen, Mocha coffee is very expensive and difficult to come by. To approximate this blend we use Sumatra from Indonesia, a rich and distinct heavy body coffee and Ethiopia Yirgacheffe with its snappy after-taste to produce a balanced rich brew and wonderful finish.
